What we collect

When you request a reading sample, BookCast may collect your email address, the book and author connected to the request, the time of the request, author and BookCast email-consent records, campaign parameters such as UTM source and campaign, the referring page, and a two-letter country code when available.

The BookCast lead table does not intentionally store a full IP address. Hosting, security and infrastructure providers may process network information as part of operating the service.

Why we use it

Requesting a free reading sample creates or identifies a free BookCast Reader account, joins the relevant author’s reader list, and grants permission for email communications from that author and BookCast.Studio, including book news, recommendations and service updates.

Who receives the data

BookCast keeps leads tied to the relevant book and author campaign. The relevant author may view or export sample-request records generated for that author inside an authenticated author dashboard. BookCast does not sell those campaign email lists or make them available to unrelated authors. Service providers may process data when necessary to host the site, store records, deliver email, protect the service or provide analytics.

Author and BookCast email permissions remain separate consent records so they can be withdrawn and managed independently. An author-marketing export is limited to readers whose current permission for that author is granted.

Campaign and location information

BookCast can record campaign parameters so an author can understand which promotion generated a visit or sample request. Country information may also be used to route a reader to an appropriate regional bookstore. The current design uses country-level routing rather than storing precise geographic coordinates.

Landing-page analytics

When BookCast first-party campaign analytics is enabled, the service can record page views and interactions such as call-to-action clicks, BookCast video progress, sample requests, retailer clicks and scroll depth. These events can be associated with the relevant book, landing-page campaign, template and UTM campaign parameters.

The BookCast analytics event stream is designed without email addresses, full IP addresses or a persistent cross-visit visitor identifier. A random page-view identifier may be created in browser memory for one page load so events from that single visit can be understood as a funnel. It is not stored as a long-term browser identifier by this BookCast event system.

Your choices

By requesting the free reading sample, you agree to the author and BookCast email communications disclosed beside the request form. You can unsubscribe at any time. The author and BookCast permissions are recorded separately and can be withdrawn independently. Privacy and deletion requests will be handled through the contact below.

International users

Nicola Publishing LLC operates BookCast.Studio from the United States. Depending on where a reader is located and how the service is offered, additional privacy laws — including European data-protection rules — may apply. BookCast is designed to preserve separate consent records and minimize data collected for the requested service.
